Cho - Quadrocopter
CHO is a portable unmanned aerial vehicle [UAV] especially designed for the detection of trapped victims under inaccessible debris. CHO can carry out tasks in several phases of an urban search and rescue operation; quick and extensive mapping of a disaster site, pinpoint searches in hard to reach areas and searches in heights. The planar top of the housing features a docking point for additional modules to extend the quadrocopter’s range of tasks. For a non-visual detection of victims CHO can be equipped with a dockable Micro Impulse Radar – module [MIR]. With this technology movements as slight as heartbeats or breathing movements from trapped victims can be detected even through debris.
The visual design and the color concept consciously differentiates from drones and quattrocopters from the military sector. The characteristic rotor pairs van be folded compactly for transport and storage. The housing parts and rotor frames are built in lightweight construction and the rotor blades and connectors use carbon fiber and other heat resistant materials.
