Great design is no coincidence but the result of thorough observation, systematic analysis, creative out-of-the-box thinking and above all the impulse to optimize and innovate.
We accompany you on all development steps on the way to your final product- from analysis and research over sustainable design concept creation to the finished design proposals up until the final realization.
Design Process
Our systematic design process is divided in 5 phases: the 5D's.
From these phases you can select the ones best suited for your design goals or you can entrust us with the whole product development process. With this method the project scope and costs can be adapted to the complexity and budget of your project.

Discover
Each project starts with the research into the respective product- and branding world and the assessment of all information relevant to the project and your development goals. We analyze your products regarding functionality and usage and examine the product environment. Observation and interviews with users, the analysis of the competition and the evaluation of video and information material provide valuable approaches for the concept phase and reveal optimization potentials for innovative product concepts.

Define
We take various ideas, wishes and requirements into account and create innovative design concepts from them.

Design
The findings from the previous phases build the foundation of the design development. The basic product structure has been established already and now the objective is the consolidation of all results in a modern and innovative product design. We generate different design directions that can be assessed with the help of photorealistic CAD renderings or design models and then consolidated into a final design proposal.
Of course, we honor your corporate identity guidelines and integrate the visual design features of your new product design into your portfolio. By your request we can also define a new and individual design system that is specifically tailored to your company.

Deliver
We utilize current CAD software to model the design proposals such as SolidWorks, Rhino or Cinema 4D. That way we can collaborate with your engineers seamlessly and are able to deliver CAD data in any common 3D formats. The level of CAD detailing from our side depends on your needs and requirements. We are also happy to support you with the definition of colors and surfaces as well as the design and placement of product logos, product names and illustrations.

Detailing
From experience we know that the perception of a product regarding quality and value is depending on little details like precise clearance between housing parts, the haptic quality of a surface or the snug fit and sound of a snap coupling. Such features can usually only be assessed and optimized when early production is already under way. In order to realize the ideal product we support you in this phase as well and can establish contact to suitable partners from our network when required.
Medical Design
Even though the design development of medical products mainly follows marketing specific decisions a special focus on ergonomics, functionality and absolute reliability is still of great importance. Having a good usability is paramount – application errors caused by poor design may possibly have fatal consequences in the medical field.
Approval procedures and the development time of products in the medical field are considerably more effortful than in most other areas of application. The usability as well as the user experience are therefore not only a benefit for marketing but may be crucial for certification. The handling of appropriate materials, higher hygiene standards and the comparably small number of units produced demand a special consideration in the design process. We know these requirements and can draw from numerous project experiences. We are able to understand and incorporate your needs in the often complex and very specialized field of medical design and transfer them into innovative products.
Growing competition demands a constant optimiziation and improvement of the usability and design of software and hardware products. The early and concurrent consideration of product- and interface design is an advantage in the field of medical design especially. Safety Design
Work safety products are used in various fields of application and are not only used in professional work environments but also for private use. Generally, the products are used on or close to the body therefore the requirements for ergonomics and wearing comfort are an important focus throughout the design process. Similar to products in the medical field work safety product are subject to strict norm requirements that have to be met to ensure the safety of the user. A good functionality and resistance to external factors are paramount. Pricing pressure often leaves little room for innovation – a well structured design process alleviates that by including all relevant areas from project start. Engineering, materials and production techniques greatly affect the protective function and can combined with a new design lead to significant innovation. We know the special conditions and requirements and integrate them into out design process.
Redesign
We update your products. The goal of a design development does not necessarily mean to create a completely new product from scratch. We are happy to support you modernizing your product portfolio. Apart from the wish for a more current design language the increase of production volume or optimization of production costs can be grounds for a redesign. This can range from small changes of details to a completely new design proposal that meets the new requirements.
