Interactive Exhibition + GUI
System D has developed a stationary exhibition concept for funded projects of creatives commissioned by the Federal Government's competence center for cultural and creative industries. (KKKWI) The aim of this show wall is not only to present the cultural and creative industries in all their diversity and innovative potential, but above all to make it tangible for visitors. With an iPad app, further information on individual projects can be called up.
If you select a project on the iPad app, individual animations are triggered at the location of the respective exhhibits and short presentation videos on the individual projects are projected onto the upper surface of the exhibition area. The technical basis for the concept is a project funded by the competence center: Edge by Light Instruments. With this system, a generic projector can be enhanced with the functionality of video mapping. The grid of the exhibit areas is based on a triangle, which means that none of the exhibit areas are rectangular. With the Edge System, the project animations and videos can be masked onto the target area with precise edges.
The layout of the GUI is based on the same triangular grid as the exhibition wall. So you can immediately locate any project from the exhibition wall you want to learn more about in the app immediately. Selecting a project plays a short explanatory video and triggers the projection of the animation and video onto the exhibition wall.
